BUS ROUTES - School Bus Transportation is a privilege that is available to students across RNESU. Please review the bus expectations with your students. Bus Expectations and Routes can be found at https://www.rnesu.org/page/bussing-and-routes.
CALLING FOR ACTION - Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application - Although breakfast and lunch will remain free this year, completing the application is still essential for the district. The quantity of completed forms is tied to funding from the federal government for free school meals now and in the future, as well as funding for other school programs. Filling out the form also helps our community provide free summer meals to all kids, including those in childcare. This application process may also qualify your family for low-cost internet. Earlier this month, the Kindergarten had a wonderful time at the Mindful Monkey Yoga studio. They came back thoroughly relaxed and centered!
Yesterday, we ran a super successful evacuation drill. Our students calmly, quietly and quickly followed all of our instructions and performed like champs. Thank you to the Chittenden Emergency Management Team, the Chittenden Fire Department and the Pittsford PD for coordinating their services and practicing with us!
Ms. Frisch's 3rd grade reached their classroom pom-pom goal and had a watermelon party today!
May the Fourth Be With You!
A little surprised no kids could be tempted to go over to the dark side!
Starting the morning with a little writing in 1st grade!
Yoga Break!
3rd and 4th graders travelled all the way to Schenectady, NY on Friday to
experience Van Gogh! What a trip!
It was a beautiful day for making music outside!
In a very important board meeting today, the kindergarten presented its recommendations for how to improve our school. They proposed:
-more things on the playground
-more full boxes of crayons
-more jokes
I'll get right on that!
The energy was through the roof for our monthly Faculty Vs Kids event. In a narrow victory, the faculty took home the prize 3-2!
Congratulations to this month's Champions of Character, the Perseverance Award winners! When the going gets rough, these kids never give up!
Some of Barstow's committed readers attended the Golden Dome Book Awards where they met authors and participated in round table discussions. Such a cool event!
From Superintendent Kristin Hubert:
Good morning Barstow Friends & Families!
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I tell you that we are officially recommending Bob Myers to the school board as the next Barstow Memorial Principal! The Barstow Board meets on April 10, 2023 and will review the nomination on that evening.
I want to thank members of the screening committee, the Barstow students and staff, and everyone who joined in during the evening forums. Your support of Barstow was evident throughout the entire process.
CANCELLED: Due to the weather and road conditions today, all RNESU schools will be closed Monday, January 23, 2023. Again, all schools are closed January 23rd in Rutland Northeast. Stay safe and warm.
