As we continue planning the district budgets for the upcoming year, I want to thank everyone who has participated in our recent feedback efforts. We recently held a series of Coffee Talks, which were informative and insightful -- offering a chance for community members to share their thoughts and concerns. I am grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to these important conversations.
While these Coffee Talks were great, we wanted to ensure that everyone has the opportunity for their voices to be heard when it comes to the budget. We have created a brief, anonymous budget survey, and I encourage all community members to participate if you haven't already. Your input is essential in helping us make decisions that best serve our students. If you are a part of the Barstow UU district, please complete the Barstow survey; if you are in the Otter Valley UU district, please complete the Otter Valley survey. The surveys are available at the bottom of this update, and on our district website -- they can be viewed by going to www.rnesu.org/page/budget. Every voice matters, and we are grateful for your input.
We recently observed Veterans Day, a moment to honor and remember the service and sacrifices of our veterans. Schools were closed on November 11th in observance, and we thank everyone who took the time to reflect on the invaluable contributions of our veterans within our community and beyond.
Lastly, parent-teacher conferences are currently taking place in our schools. These meetings provide an important opportunity to engage with teachers about your child's progress and to strengthen the home-school partnership. I encourage all parents and guardians to attend.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our schools.
Kindly,
Rene Sanchez
