Good evening Lothrop Families!
Teachers return tomorrow to participate in professional development in support of our academic recovery, instruction, and social and emotional learning. They will be putting the final touches on their learning spaces and I am sure that the week will fly :)
While I have tried to create a tone of normalcy in my communications over the summer, I want to reassure you that we will be following masking protocols inside and applying the practices that kept us healthy last year with hand washing/sanitizing as we start the day and throughout. Classrooms look far more typical this year, while teachers are working to find ways to balance normalcy with social distancing when they are able.
August PTO meeting
Will be held this Wednesday, August 25th at 6:00 PM at the Mullins house on 1661 Furnace Road. This meeting will be in-person and the plan after this meeting is to do them virtually. The focus of the August meeting is to set the budget and fundraising/event schedule for the upcoming school year. Join us! There will be snacks!
Drop Off
Drop off in the AM will begin again at 7:35 AM. Please do not let your child out of the car until there is an adult present to greet them. This is strictly for ongoing safety. Mr. Pauls and I thoroughly enjoy greeting the children in the morning and we will both rotate between greeting car riders and bus riders. We understand that our Kinder students will need a little help out of the car at the beginning of the year. As soon as you are able, please have your child get out of the car on their own, so as to keep the flow of traffic rolling. We do understand that there may be families with extenuating circumstances. All car rider drop-offs between 7:35 AM and 8:00 AM must occur in the lower lot. Health screenings will no longer occur and we trust that you will keep your child at home if she or he is sick. Please reach out to Mrs. Parker and keep her in the loop if your child is sick.
Masks
All staff and learners will wear masks while inside. Mask breaks will continue. This year, our learners will NOT need to wear one when outside. Please help your child find a place in their backpack for their mask, as after the first day of school, they will have recess before going into the building and will not need their mask until they enter the building. It will be helpful if they can find their mask quickly.

If you have not had a chance to download the RNESU app, I invite you to do so. From there you will be able to see all information that has gone out in a single space. No more searching for emails!
