Dear Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union Families,
Welcoming back students, staff, and families to a new school year has never sounded so
good to communicate as it does for the 2022-2023 school year. I sincerely hope that your
summer months have been enjoyable and relaxing; reinvigorating you all for the beginning
of what is shaping up to be a terrific school year within each of our schools!
RNESU staff has been busy this summer with facilities, curriculum, and technology
projects; finalizing hiring; putting the finishing touches on getting our schools ready; and
diving into professional development for staff and administrators. We have missed many
traditional celebrations and “starts” with our students and families for the past few years,
and thus are thrilled to have all RNESU students begin school on Wednesday, August
31, 2022.
As we enter the new school year, we are excitedly preparing to incorporate our “Global
Ends” into all that we do (see RNESU Global Ends in the District Handbook). We are
eager to see the many ways our students will demonstrate their wonder, discovery, voice,
and talents as they seek to develop: character, competence, creativity, and community.
Throughout the year, it is my hope and intent to share the many contributions and
celebrations of our students and staff, spotlighting schools as often as possible. Be on the
lookout for “Superintendent Spotlight” videos on the RNESU website and social media.
We also continue to be grateful for in-person learning, combined with safety measures, which enable our schools to look and feel more familiar while still affording important layers of protection for students and staff. Remember to be on the lookout for back to school mailings from your student’s school administrator and teacher(s)!
I look forward to personally visiting each classroom over the first few days, to welcome our new and returning students. I have no doubt this year will include many academic and personal successes, as well as many memorable experiences for us all. Please consider participating in a ThoughtExchange Survey to share your hopes for the year at https://tejoin.com/scroll/279326332.
Sincerely,
Kristin A. Hubert
